Install guide
Install Ryujinx Canary
Download the matching package for your operating system, launch the app once, then finish setup with your own keys, firmware, and game directories.
Extract the archive first
Most Ryujinx download assets arrive as compressed archives, such as .zip, .7z, .tar.gz, or .app.tar.gz. Before you try to launch the emulator, extract the archive to a normal folder first.
If you are not sure which extraction tool to use, 7-Zip is a safe default recommendation, especially for Windows users.
Download 7-Zip from the official site →Windows
Extract the package, run Ryujinx.exe, handle SmartScreen or .NET prompts, then continue with first-time setup.
Open steps →Linux and Steam Deck
Use .tar.gz, .tar.xz, or AppImage. Steam Deck users should choose Linux x64, not arm64.
Open steps →macOS
Expand the universal archive, open Ryujinx.app, and handle Gatekeeper if macOS blocks first launch.
